MAC cosmetics to launch new line, Prep for Colour will be on counters by April 8 2010 - May 28, 2010. The new line aims to help prep the skin, pump it full of antioxidants, and help prevent damage from the sun and environment to help the skin look more healthy and vibrant. Word on the street is that the new line will include an Asian exclusive product called Prep + Prime Fortified Skin Enhancer SPF 35 which is a tinted primer that will also act as a heavy duty sunblock and correct skin problems such as redness and dull skin. Will mosdef check that out. Will holler back with results.

The Food So Nice They Named it Twice.

Been trying to explore the world of a vegetarian for the last few months and I must admit it's been challenging at times to go out and find food that excludes meat- and isn't a salad. So, I've pretty much found it easier to get my ass in the kitchen and make something. This was the case last night when I was craving for something a little ethnic, but easy. Thus, Curry Couscous was born...well, after much improvisations due to lack of ingredients...and pretty much straight up laziness on my part, that is. Here goes the method to my madness, aka the recipe:

First, I started with a drizzle of EVOO (extra virgin olive oil for the noobs, haha) once around the pan. Add 1 tbs butter, half a diced onion and cook through. Next, I added 1 1/2 tbs (roughly) curry powder and 1 tbs coriander, cook through quickly, then add 1 1/2 cups water (chicken broth if you're feeling frisky...or have it on hand unlike me). Once the water comes to a boil, add 1 1/2 cups couscous. Stir once, remove from heat and cover tightly for 10-15mins, then fluff with fork.

Next, I added frozen peas and a can of red beans, strained and rinsed (chickpeas were ideal, but I worked with what I had, sorry), and the juice of one lemon. Stir together and tightly cover.

While the couscous sits, in another sauce pan, drizzle once around pan EVOO and heat through. Sauté half an onion- diced. Once onions cook through, add half a bottle of mango chutney (found in specialty food shops; got mine from Trader Joe's) and simmer until sauce rethickens. Add a pinch of salt to bring out flavor.

Finally, combine couscous into pan with sayce and Bon appetit!
Yum-a-e-i-o-u!

A Look Into Fall

Richard Nicoll has definitely revived French tailoring label, Cerruti, in my opinion. LOVE his use of different textures, giving his outfits the ultimate layer appeal, and the colors are the epitome of Fall!

Hellz Bellz Spring 2010: Obsessed With You

Seductive, hard, and modern. Hellz Bellz simplistic silhouettes are complimented by the minimal color story, and chic trims featured in the Spring 2010 collection. The mood of the theme is definitely portrayed through the dark make up, bold accessories, and black and white exposures. Well done Hellz Bellz. Now to get my grubby little hands on this collection...
